What hardcoded subtitles are

Hardcoded subtitles are burned into the video pixels. Viewers do not need to enable captions, and the subtitle style is preserved in the exported file.

Because burned-in export creates a new video, it can use plan limits, minutes, and export permissions. Check Billing if the export button asks you to upgrade, buy extra minutes, or contact a billing owner.

Start a hardcoded export

1. Open the project in the editor.
2. Save any pending subtitle or style changes.
3. Open Export Video.
4. Review any billing, watermark, or resolution message shown by the app.
5. Confirm the export.
6. Wait for encoding to finish, then download the completed video from the export menu.

Watermark and resolution

Free-plan exports include a CutCaption watermark; paid plans export clean video. The highest export resolution also depends on your plan and on the source video — the export dialog only offers resolutions your plan and source support.

Exports spend processing minutes based on video length, and 4K exports cost double minutes. The export dialog shows the cost before you confirm.

Before confirming

• Preview the exact caption state you want to export.
• Check local overrides and karaoke effects in motion.
• Make sure the selected output matches the target platform.
• Keep the browser open if the app shows an active upload warning.
