Getting started with CutCaption
Create a project, prepare subtitles, approve the preview, and export from one browser workflow.

The usual workflow
CutCaption starts in Studio. Upload a video, choose whether CutCaption should generate subtitles or use a subtitle file you already have, then open the editor when processing finishes.
Inside the editor, review the transcript against the video, fix timing or text, choose a subtitle style, and export either subtitle files or a video with subtitles burned in.
Create your first project
- Open the app and go to Studio.
- Select Create Project.
- Choose AI Generation for automatic captions, or My Own Subtitles if you already have a subtitle file.
- Upload the video and follow the review step before submitting.
- When processing is complete, open the project in the editor.
What to check before exporting
- Play through the video once and correct obvious caption mistakes.
- Check the start and end timing for captions that feel early or late.
- Apply a global style before making one-off caption changes.
- Use preview as the source of truth before starting a hardcoded export.
