Style one subtitle differently

Use local overrides when one caption needs different emphasis or placement.

When to use local style

Local styling is for exceptions. Use it when one caption needs emphasis, a different position, or a visual correction that should not change the whole project.

Apply a local override

  1. Select the caption in the editor.
  2. Open the local style or positioning controls for that caption.
  3. Adjust color, emphasis, anchor, offset, rotation, or other available local settings.
  4. Play the caption in context.
  5. Remove the local override if a global style change would be cleaner.

Gotchas

  • Too many local overrides make a project harder to maintain.
  • If every caption needs the same change, update global style instead.
  • Preview local positioning against the actual video frame before exporting.
