Who operates CutCaption
CutCaption is operated by Otso Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. When these Terms say "CutCaption," "we," "us," or "our," they refer to Otso Labs LLC operating the CutCaption service.
Otso Labs LLC can be reached at [email protected].
Accounts and eligibility
You need an account for the main product experience. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account or workspace.
You must be at least 13 years old to use CutCaption. If a higher age is required where you live, you may use CutCaption only if you meet that higher requirement or have appropriate consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Your content and outputs
You keep ownership of videos, audio, subtitle files, captions, translations, styles, exports, and other materials you upload or create with CutCaption.
You give CutCaption the limited permission needed to host, process, transcode, transcribe, translate, render, store, display, and deliver your content so the service can work. This permission ends when the content is deleted from active systems, subject to backup, security, billing, and legal retention needs.
AI-generated captions and translations can be imperfect. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and approving final subtitles, translations, and exported videos before publishing or relying on them.
Your responsibility for uploaded media
You may upload or process content only if you have the rights and permissions needed to do so. This includes videos, audio, music, images, subtitles, fonts, brand assets, and any other material included in a project or export.
You are responsible for the final content you export or publish from CutCaption, including whether it infringes another person's rights or violates applicable law.
Subscriptions, billing, and extra minutes
CutCaption may offer free access, monthly subscriptions, and one-time extra-minute purchases for active paid plans. Processing minutes are charged when uploads are ingested, when translations are requested, and when burned-in video exports run. Free-tier burned-in exports carry a watermark. Public pricing pages and the checkout flow describe current plan features, included monthly minutes, extra-minute expiry, taxes, and payment details.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. If Stripe checkout or the Stripe billing portal is available for your account, payment and subscription management may be handled through Stripe.
Included subscription minutes refresh each billing cycle. Purchased extra minutes are separate add-ons, require an active paid plan, and expire 12 months after purchase. Free welcome credits do not expire.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a paid subscription through the account billing flow when available, or by contacting support if the billing portal is unavailable. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law or stated in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Refund eligibility, extra-minute handling, failed payments, and billing disputes are explained in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse CutCaption, interfere with the service, attempt to bypass technical limits, upload illegal or harmful content, infringe intellectual property rights, or use CutCaption in a way that harms other users, third parties, or the service.
The Acceptable Use Policy and Copyright and DMCA page are part of these Terms.
Service availability and changes
CutCaption is provided as an evolving SaaS product. Features, limits, supported file types, model behavior, pricing, and infrastructure may change over time.
We work to keep the product reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free outputs, or that every file can be processed successfully.
Disclaimers and liability limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CutCaption is provided without warranties that are not expressly stated. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.
Some laws do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your location require otherwise. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Wyoming unless applicable law gives you another required venue.
